Frontgrade’s FIOM (Fiber Optic I/O Mezzanine) is a rugged, space-ready module that provides remote 10GBASE-SR and 1000BASE-T Ethernet connectivity to the RPMG1-SVPX Versal VC1902.

FIOM Quad Fiber Optic Mezzanine

The FIOM Mezzanine plugs directly into the RPMG1-SVPX, converting VC1902 signals to front-panel Glenair Nano-D and fiber optic connectors, simplifying integration and reducing risk. The module supports six 1000BASE-T ports, RS-422, LVDS PPS timing, and a Firehawk™ CSSO optical transceiver with four duplex fiber ports for high-speed data and precise timing.

Compact and SWaP-optimized (<125 g, ~7W), the FIOM is built with space-rated components for strong radiation tolerance, low SEU rates, and high MTBF. It delivers reliable performance in LEO and other harsh environments while enabling fast, efficient system integration.
