Product overview

The RHD5980 is an octal bidirectional bus transceiver and voltage-level shifter with separate supplies for its two ports. Direction control selects whether data travels from port A to port B or in the reverse direction, while an active-low output-enable input controls the tri-state outputs. The architecture supports translation between nominal 3.3 V and 5 V logic as well as buffering at matching levels. Schmitt-trigger input buffers provide hysteresis for slower input transitions. The datasheet describes loading, switching and supply conditions; ordering suffixes determine the selected screening and radiation-assurance flow.

More about this product

Product features

  • Bidirectional A-to-B or B-to-A transfer
  • Separate port supply rails
  • Tri-state output enable
  • Schmitt-trigger bus and control inputs

Set direction and port supplies

Power each port for its intended logic level. The direction input selects the data path, and the active-low enable controls whether the bus outputs drive or enter a high-impedance state.

Applications

  • Logic-level translation
  • Digital bus buffering
