Product overview
The 5402801 EMI filter is designed for use with one or two Frontgrade 28 V single-stage isolated converter modules. Its differential-mode and common-mode low-pass filters use damping optimized for those converters. The integrated module supports power-input filtering while keeping the interface to the system board compact. A gull-wing package supports surface-mount assembly. At the system level, the filter supports meeting conducted-emissions requirements; the final result depends on the complete installation and verification. The passive architecture and documented converter pairing make it a companion component for the single-stage power-conversion family.

Filter the converter input
Use the filter with the documented Frontgrade single-stage converter interface. Conducted-emissions compliance is evaluated at the system level, including wiring, grounding and installation.

Note: The tests were performed in accordance with the Defense Logistics Agency’s MIL-STD-883 Test Methods which included External Visual (2009), Internal Visual & Mechanical (2014), Temperature Cycling (1010), Constant Acceleration (2001), Random Vibration (2026), End-Point Electrical (in accordance with device specification), and Life Test (2009). Frontgrade is pursuing MIL-PRF-38534 Class L qualification with the Defense Logistics Agency, and QML approval is currently pending.
